Business Partners

Introducing our business partners

The Arc of Cumberland County is primarily funded by five distinct sources. Our largest funders are the New Jersey Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services, the New Jersey Department of Children and Families, and the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities. We also receive funding from the New Jersey Commission for the Blind and we have been supported by the Greater United Way organization for over three decades with our latest partner being the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey. We are also supported every day by our many program and special events volunteers, the numerous business leaders throughout southern New Jersey that provide employment opportunities for our consumers, and by our local city and county government officials that provide financial support and general assistance to us throughout the year.

Any individual with a physical, mental, cognitive, or other form of disability that has a substantial impediment to employment may qualify for Supported Employment (SE) services through the NJ DVRS. Customers who require an intensive level of job coaching are referred to a supported employment provider for one-on-one assistance in job searching, interviewing skills training, and applying for jobs. The supported employment provider delivers on-the-job coaching to assist the customer in learning job duties and adjusting to the work environment. SE also includes periodic follow-up to make sure the consumer retains his or her job. The Arc of Cumberland County has been an approved provider of these services by NJDVRS since 1998.

The NJDDD provides public funding for services that assist New Jersey adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, age 21 and older, to live as independently as possible. DDD services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities are not an entitlement and are dependent on resource availability and DDD eligibility determination. Services are accessed through eligibility for and enrollment in one of two Medicaid waiver programs, the Supports Program or the Community Care Program. The Arc of Cumberland County is approved to provide the following NJDDD Supports Program Services: Community-Based Supports, Community Inclusion Services, Day Habilitation, Prevocational Training, Respite, and Supported Employment - Individual and Small Group.

NJDCF provides funding through their Division of Children’s System of Care Intellectual/ Developmental Disability Services programs that are coordinated with the Arc of Cumberland County by Perform Care. We are approved by the NJDCF to provide Weekend Agency Respite, Self-Hire Respite, Agency Hire Respite, and After School services through Perform Care.

Vocational Rehabilitation services are designed to assist persons who are blind, visually impaired, or deaf-blind in the development, acquisition or updating of skills that will enable them to secure or maintain employment. The Arc of Cumberland County is approved by the NJCBVI to provide job development supports and intensive coaching supports as part of their Supported Employment Services.

The UWGPSNJ currently provides the Arc of Cumberland County with an annual grant of $30,000 for a three-year period that we use to offset our Supported Employment Services expenses. More information on UWGPSNJ can be found on our “How to Donate” webpage.
