The Arc of Cumberland County operates an After School program for students with disabilities between the ages of 5 to 21 who have been determined eligible by the New Jersey Children’s System of Care – as managed by the New Jersey Department of Children and Families. We offer this service at our Evanoff Center in Vineland from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday thru Friday throughout the year – including the summer months. This program follows the Vineland Public School District calendar during the traditional school year from September to June. We open this program early on days when half day school sessions are scheduled.
Our After School students are supervised by our experienced staff at a minimum student to staff ratio of 4 to 1. Students experience a variety of daily activities that include small group computer play and instruction, large group arts and crafts projects, the preparation of a healthy group snack (and the related clean up responsibilities), and a wide variety of small and large group recreational games held both indoors and outdoors – weather permitting. Our After School staff is committed to incorporate the concepts of acceptance, cooperation, and kindness in every activity presented to our After School students.
The Arc of Cumberland County does not provide transportation to or from this program. Several of the local school districts will transport their students to our Evanoff center location but a parent or approved person must pick them up no later than at the end of each daily session at the Evanoff Center
This program is coordinated by Perform Care through their Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Services. The Arc of Cumberland County is an approved provider of Perform Care services.
